Counselling & Bereavement
Ardgowan Hospice provides a Counselling and Bereavement Service to individuals and their families; including sessions for patients who are experiencing difficulties in coming to terms with their life-limiting illnesses.
Counselling sessions tend to last one hour and may run over a period of several weeks or even months. The aim is to ensure patients and families have the opportunity to express their thoughts, fears or concerns during such a difficult time. Grief is very individual and each one of us will react to it very differently.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us should you feel you would like to talk with one of our professionally trained Counsellors at the Hospice. You can either contact us to self-refer or alternatively referral can be through your GP or Community Nurse.
Sharing the words of one of our users:
“Thank you for your kindness, just being there, understanding and listening to me. You have given me the strength to face life again and have helped me come to terms with certain issues. It can’t be an easy job you do, but be assured it is very much appreciated. I cannot thank you enough.”
