Tea at Three or Wine at Nine
Last updated: 2.51pm, Wednesday 15th March 2017
Ardgowan Hospice is asking supporters to get together this March and host a Tea at Three or Wine at Nine party with friends, family or work colleagues.
Tea breaks are a tradition that has been with us for over 200 years. 80% of office workers say they find out more about what's going on at work over a cup of tea than any other way.
So why not organise your colleagues to down tools and have a mass cuppa as part of the Ardgowan Hospice Tea at 3 appeal. Simply pick a date in March, set your clocks to 3pm, and enjoy a cuppa and a piece of cake and make a donation to your local hospice.
You could even get everyone to dig out the baking books and have a bake sale and competition. In the UK, we drink 62 billion cups of tea every year. You could make this one really count by getting together for a blether.
Or if you are looking for something a bit stronger, get your gal pals to organise a Wine at 9 fun night in. Simply pick your night in March, ask your friends to bring along a favourite dish, and make a donation to your local hospice in lieu of what you would normally spend on a night out.
So whether you do it at work, in your local group, or get together with your friends, let’s make March a sociable month and raise some money for your local hospice. Whether it is a £1 or £150, you can really make a difference to those who are living with a life limiting illness in Inverclyde.
Sandra Kerr, who welcomes patients and families at the Access at Ardgowan centre, is looking forward to taking part. She said, “There’s nothing to beat a cuppa and a chat – it just relaxes you, but I also like everyone coming together to unwind with a glass of wine. This is a great way to raise funds for the hospice and have that much needed catch up with your friends and family.”
