Light Up Inverclyde
Light up a Life, and now Light Up Inverclyde for 2020, is a time where we come together to remember the special people in our lives who are not with us this Christmas.
When you donate, we will dedicate a light on our huge Tree of Remembrance to your loved one(s) which will shine bright in their memory throughout the dark winter nights and we will also add a light to our online starry sky with your message displayed on the page. The link for this will appear soon.
In place of our usual annual service in the Westburn Church, we’ll be hosting a virtual Light Up Inverclyde night here on our website and over on our Facebook page. We invite anyone and everyone to join us from 6pm on December 6th. The stream is free to access, but you can make a donation to Light Up Inverclyde in memory of a loved one on this page.
Before the stream begins, we want you to Light Up Inverclyde – go to your door or window and shine a light at 6pm! Whether it’s a phone torch, a candle, or your Christmas Tree lights, help us make Inverclyde sparkle!
After you’ve shone your light, settle down for our video. We’ll have music and carols from some incredible local talent, there will be a special pre-recorded service from the Westburn Church, the switching on of our lights and some of your lights and more special surprises that we hope to be able to bring.
At a time when our events have been cancelled, shop footfall reduced and external fundraising challenges cancelled or postponed your support means the world to us. Our motto is Together We Care, and throughout 2020 you have been the embodiment of these words.
Thank you, and enjoy Light Up Inverclyde on December 6th.
Ways you can Light Up Inverclyde:
Shine a Light:
At 6pm on December 6th, shine a light in your home or workplace in memory of your loved ones and in celebration of those who make Inverclyde special.
You can light: a candle, a torch, your Christmas tree, your house lights, your car headlights and more – if it lights up, light it! Make sure to take a picture and share it with us on social media.
Make a Donation:
Making a donation can support Ardgowan Hospice in providing our care to your community. As well as our care, a kind donation today can help pay for things such as Christmas dinners, extra cleaning costs, and help offset expenses incurred adapting Ardgowan Hospice for COVID and ensuring staff could work from home.
Make a dedication:
Make a light shine bright for your loved ones by:
– Telling us the name or names of those you would like to dedicate a light to when you make a donation online today, or by completing the Dedication Form and return it to us at the hospice.
– We will dedicate a light to shine for them on our tree.
– We will also include their names on our night sky (please check back here for the link)
Watch our virtual Light Up Inverclyde event:
– On Sunday 6th December at 6:00pm, we will be holding a special virtual event featuring song, spoken word, the lighting of our tree and much more.
Be part of our night sky:
This year we’re creating a special digital night sky that will be filled with stars in memory of your loved ones. When you donate, we’ll add them to our sky.
