At Ardgowan Hospice, we are continuously inspired and uplifted by the incredible support we receive from our local community. Their efforts, creativity, and generosity help us provide vital care and services to those in need. On this Fundraising Friday, we want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us from February through April by showcasing the power of community spirit by highlighting a few fundraising moments:
February
Xcite Activity Play Centre: Kicking off the year with energy and enthusiasm, Xcite held toy sales and bake sales, raising an impressive £1,193.95. Their ongoing support is truly appreciated.
Crumbs Ladies Day: A delightful pink-themed event at the Chartroom featuring delicious cookies raised £1,301.20. The vibrant atmosphere and generous contributions made this day a sweet success.
Kathleen Fletcher’s Homemade Ginger Wine: In a touching tribute to her stepfather, Kathleen raised £100 through the sale of her homemade ginger wine.
Hillend Children’s Centre: Their Christmas fun day, combined with staff salary donations, brought in £481.50. This festive initiative spread joy and support during the holiday season.
The Royalle Club: Through their bingo events, they donated a generous £1,000.
IRH Canteen Staff: The staff’s act of kindness resulted in a remarkable £2,000 from their tip jar and collection tin, showcasing their dedication to making a difference.
City Church: Their Tuesday afternoon teas, a long-standing tradition, contributed £1,005. This weekly event continues to bring the community together in support of the hospice.
Spinnaker Hotel: The Christmas raffle at the hotel raised £350, adding festive cheer and support to our cause.
March
Greenock Speakers Club: Their Burns supper raffle raised £242, a testament to their community spirit.
Hospice Singers: Through their harmonious concert, they raised £500, bringing music and support to the hospice.
McCaskies Burns Supper: Their celebration of Burns night raised an impressive £1,200.
Marie, Colette, Joe and Heather: The group completed ‘March into March’ in memory of Albert Burrows. They walked 10,000 steps a day for the month and raised £900.
April
Cardwell Bar: In memory of a loved friend, staff and customers raised £110.
Specsavers Greenock: Their Christmas jumper day back in December brought in £232.27, highlighting festive fun for a cause.
Bullseye Sports Bar: A darts competition raised £600, combining sport and charity in a winning combination.
Geraldine Blair: Knitting chicks and bunnies with creme eggs, Geraldine raised £300 in memory of her husband.
Barnards Court Mission: Their bake sale raised £600, showing the power of baked goods for a good cause.
Kilmacolm Golf Club: Their Ballsup group Texas scramble raised £100, contributing to our mission.
Liam Martin: Taking on a half marathon in memory of his mum, Liam raised a staggering £5,055.
Inverkip Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Church of Scotland: Their Fiddlers Concert with afternoon tea raised £755.10, blending music and community support.
