Fundraising Friday: Recent Highlights
At Ardgowan Hospice, we are continuously inspired and uplifted by the incredible support we receive from our local community. Their efforts, creativity, and generosity help us provide vital care and services to those in need.
On this Fundraising Friday, we want to thank everyone who has supported us recently by showcasing the power of community spirit by highlighting some of the fundraising efforts in Inverclyde:
Horseshoe Bar: At the Horseshoe Bar, Eileen Boyle and Cathy Wallace organised a pink day in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. Their event was a great success, with £340.50 being raised for the hospice.
Craig Ross: As part of a gruelling challenge, Craig Ross participated in a triathlon event at Rouken Glen in Giffnock in memory of his late mum. Craig completed the challenge and raised a magnificent £2,550 for Ardgowan Hospice.
Gourock Golf Club Pro-am: Derek Watters, the club pro at Gourock Golf Club, paid a touching tribute to his late mother by hosting a pro-am at his golf club. The event saw a host of PGA golfers showing their quality on the course, with a whopping £25,000 raised at the event. Derek has been brilliant for the hospice and we are so happy to have him supporting us.
Lee Mclaughlan: In aid of Ardgowan Hospice, Lee Mclaughlan took part in the Dunoon Ultra Marathon. This is a Speyside trail marathon called The Dramathon, which goes past numerous distilleries and involves a half marathon, and a 10k just for good measure. Lee raised £731 and counting and has been a regular fundraiser from the hospice as seen below with last year’s Dramathon.
Coffee Morning: Port Glasgow 2025 hosted a coffee morning at its base in John Wood Street – and the amazing array of home-baking helped generate an incredible £325 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
