Ardgowan Hospice joins #GivingTuesday 2018, the international day to do good stuff for charity on 27th November
We’re excited to reveal that we’re one of over 2,000 charities taking part in this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign, to be held on the 27th of November. The campaign began in America in 2012 before being brought to the UK in 2014 by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). It aims to get people thinking of others in the run up to Christmas, be it through donating to charity, volunteering or simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member.
Last year celebrities including Ricky Gervais and Emma Watson publicly supported the campaign, alongside big brands such as Virgin, ASOS and Sainsbury’s. Giving Tuesday raised over $300m in online donations alone with people participating from 150 countries, including Antarctica.
Ben Russell, Director of Communications at CAF, adds:
“Giving Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity for people across the globe to get involved in a cause they care about, and last year people covering all seven continents worked together to make a positive impact on the lives of others. We can’t wait to see how our charity and corporate partners are going to pull out all the stops on the big day.”
