We know that travelling to and from hospital appointments can exert both a financial and practical pressure on you and your family – not to mention the excessive stresses involved with negotiating public transport or sourcing parking. Our team of volunteer drivers aim to make life easier for you.

If you don’t have access to your own transport, or are unable to rely on lifts from family or friends, our excellent team of volunteer drivers are available to assist you as long as you are fully mobile and able to get in and out of the vehicle without assistance.  Drivers use their own vehicles to provide transport to and from the hospitals in the Greater Glasgow area.

This free service aims to assist you in ensuring that you keep the time away from your home to a minimum. Your allocated pick up time is generally between an hour to an hour and a half prior to your appointment – if in Glasgow, and half hour for local appointments. In some instances, transport is arranged for daily appointments over a 4/6 week period. A carer or family member can accompany you on your first journey to your appointment.

The service operates Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. We ask, where possible, for a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to your appointment time to enable us to arrange your transport. Please be aware that the transport service does not operate outside these hours or at weekends.

It is our policy for you to be taken back to your home address, however we do appreciate that you may request to be dropped off at another location in exceptional circumstances – on such an occasion you will be required to sign a disclaimer indicating that you are requesting to be dropped off at a location which differs from your pick up point.
