Island – Free Documentary Screening + Q&A with Ardgowan staff
You’re invited to a free screening of the award winning ‘Island’. This will be followed by a Q&A with Ardgowan Hospice staff at the Waterfront Cinema this May 16th.
Ardgowan Hospice is taking part in the nationwide awareness campaigns, Dying Matters Awareness Week & Good Death Week, which run in parallel from May 13-19.
As part of this week, we invite you to join us at the Waterfront Cinema – Greenock on Thursday 16th May at 10am for a screening of the award winning documentary – Island.
This screening will be directly followed by a Q&A session with Ardgowan Hospice staff allowing the audience an opportunity to raise questions on the topic of Death, Dying and Bereavement. If you’re unable to attend, you can still view the Q&A via a Facebook live stream.
The event is free and open to anyone, however all attendees must register for a ticket in advance. You can get your ticket here: ardgowanhospice.org.uk/event/island-screening/
The theme for this year’s Dying Matters campaign is ‘Are We Ready’. It looks at practical and emotional steps we need to take to be ready for the end of our lives.
Opinion polls show that only about a third of people have written a will or thought about their funeral. Even fewer have thought about their end of life care, or made a decision about organ donation. We know people have questions or concerns about end of life and we hope to answer many of those.
