Oak Mall goes the extra mile to help keep Ardgowan Hospice Shop open
Oak Mall Shopping Centre management have this week helped to keep the tills ringing at Ardgowan Hospice charity shop, despite having to decant them to new premises. The hospice shop, whose sales help to fund vital hospice care services, was forced to relocate as a result of essential road works on the bridge above the store.
Fearing a potential loss of income, Ardgowan Hospice Retail Development Manager Linda Kelly, supported by the centre management, was able to keep the existing store running while the new location was set up, which helped to minimise any drop in income.
Linda said, “The money we make from the sale of donated goods is hugely important as it helps fund services to support those affected by life limiting illness. So we are absolutely thrilled that the Oak Mall team have been so helpful and instrumental in making this necessary move so easy for us.” She continued, “Others who have helped enormously are Sean Graham of Inverwraps and Scott Gage of Ecosse Joinery who gifted their time for free and were also hugely supportive.”
The new store, located between Poundworld and Shoezone, was officially opened today by Ardgowan Hospice nurses, Angela McAlees and Isabel Scott.
The store is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and is always grateful for any donations of good quality goods.
