Our fundraising activities are fun, simple to organise, and help children and young people take an active part in their community. And the money raised by nurseries and schools like yours is absolutely vital in helping the hospice deliver the best possible care to its patients and their families.
Ardgowan Hospice Butterfly service helps to children and young people by affected by life limiting illness. Here’s just some of the ways that your fundraising efforts could help other children and young people:
Offering therapeutic support
One to one or in group sessions
Provide useful resources
Such as memory boxes and books
A safe place to talk
To help them understand what is happening and develop coping strategies
So you see the difference your school or nursery can make is incredible. To get you started, here’s a few fun and simple fundraising ideas:
Sponsored games day
Have lots of fun and raise lots of money at school sports day. Pupils can ask their families and friends to sponsor them for taking part.
Have a dress down or dress up day
Choose a theme or give students free rein, and ask them to make a donation to Ardgowan Hospice in return.
Lights camera action
Ask for donations to Ardgowan Hospice at your school concert or play.
Get the PTA involved
And hold a charity coffee morning or quiz night.
Whatever you decide to do, we’ve got some top tips for you and we’re here to help you with your fundraising. So give us a call on 01475 726830 and speak with a member of the fundraising team, or email fundraising@ardhosp.co.uk. We’re also really happy to come to your group to give a talk about our work so please do get in touch if you would like us to come along.
In fact we are always keen to come in and speak with children and young people about the work we do, and about the world of work and the many different roles we have at the hospice.
