Fundraising Assistant

Position: Fundraising Assistant
Salary: Step 3A £26,822 to Step 3C £28,562 plus benefits (pro-rata)
Hours: 30 hours per week
Location: Greenock
Closing Date: Friday 1st May 2026 at 12 noon

An opportunity has arisen for a Fundraising Assistant to join our Fundraising Team. You will be joining our fantastic Fundraising team who keeps the organisation surviving and thriving by bringing in funding from individual donors, corporate partners, or individual major donors.
The successful candidate for this role works across the whole Fundraising team, providing administrative and operational support, including maintaining the fundraising database.
We’re looking for someone with great people skills, as well as drive, initiative and determination. You’ll be diligent with details and accuracy, and have a dynamic approach to your work. You will be a natural problem solver, always looking to improve upon current processes to improve on efficiency. We would prefer you to hold a full Driving license and have access to a car.
The main duties of the role are to:
-Monitor the fundraising inbox, acting as first point of contact for a wide range of enquirers and supporters, including some high profile donors and maintaining a professional approach at all times
-Monitoring hospice collecting cans to be emptied and processing of cans going out.
-Take responsibility for ensuring that full records are maintained on the fundraising database including timely processing of donations, grants and making sure donors are thanked in a timely manner
-To assist the Fundraising team with some financial functions such as reconciling the bank statements between Fundraising and Finance, ensuring donations are correctly coded
-Registration, processing, monitoring and follow-up of third party events (community efforts)
-Support donors and supporters with sponsor forms, tshirts, buckets etc and any further support they may need
-Compilation and submission of quarterly and ad hoc Gift Aid claims
-Participating in Hospice events and attend cheque presentations on behalf of the hospice including liaising with local press.
-General administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, typing and fulfilment
-Preparation of reports, maintenance and clearing of fundraising database
-Attend and contribute to all team meetings
-Some project and event responsibilities as agreed at Fundraising team meetings.
-To carry out a range of information gathering activities as required, including online research.
-Ensure that data processing is in accordance with GDPR compliance
-Stock control of merchandise
