Through a range of pain management and palliative services, Ardgowan Hospice offers medical and wellbeing support to patients, families and carers when dealing with life-shortening conditions and end-of-life care.
Annually, we care for over 1,100 local people who are impacted by terminal diagnoses including cancers, heart failure, lung disease and neurological conditions (e.g. dementia), as well as their bereaved family members and carers. Our multi-disciplinary team of over 110 staff and more than 100 volunteers works to reduce and manage symptoms; we help people cope constructively with deteriorating health so they can face their journey ahead with clarity and dignity.
Some people have a preference as to where they are cared for, and we will work with you and your family to try to achieve this. We can support you at home, and other places of care, as well as at our inpatient unit in Greenock.
We work closely with your GP and district nurse, and also any other medical and support staff you currently see, to work in partnership with them to provide you with the best all round care.
Where we can support you
We can help to improve your quality of life in a variety of settings such as from your own home. However sometimes you may need more specialist support from our team and may benefit from an admission to our inpatient unit in Greenock.
