Fundraising

Over 60% of our £11,000 a day running costs need to be raised through fundraising and donations from compassionate individuals, groups, organisations and foundations. Here are just some of the ways to support the free care that we provide.

Fundraising

We know that the people of Inverclyde are always up for a social gathering so why not get the gang together, have some fun and raise money for your local hospice!

Each year we organise a series of great fundraising challenges for you to get involved in, such as firewalks, skydives and our growing team for the annual Glasgow Kiltwalk! We also host a range of sell-out social events which not only allow you to help us raise vital funds but let you enjoy a great day/night out and win some fantastic raffle prizes in the process.

You can find out more about our upcoming events and challenges by emailing fundraising@ardgowanhospice.org

Here are some ideas to get you started, but don’t feel restricted by your imagination. You can also find some practical hints and tips below whether you choose to fundraise at work, with friends, at school or with your local community group. Simply register for your fundraising pack below or speak to one of our fundraisers – we are here to help.

Fundraising at work

Get your workplace involved in making a difference! From bake sales and dress-down days to sponsored challenges, fundraising at work is a great way to bring your team together while supporting a worthy cause. Every contribution helps us provide compassionate care for those who need it most.

Life-limiting illness touches us all, including your staff and your customers. From raising money to raising awareness, corporate partnerships are vital to helping us to fund patient care in Inverclyde.

We work with all sorts of companies to help make a real difference in the lives of hundreds of people who are living in Inverclyde with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer and heart disease. There is so much that you and your company could do to help.

Whether it’s cake sales, dress-down days, volunteer days or taking on a challenge event like Tough Mudder, getting involved with Ardgowan Hospice will motivate and inspire your employees.

Whatever you decide to do, by partnering with us, we can help you:
-Connect employees across teams: relationships between employees, suppliers and customers
-Put you in contact with the right people to make your fundraising dreams a reality
-Develop your employees’ personal and professional skills
-Increase job satisfaction and boost employee retention
-Enhance your company’s brand to employees, suppliers and customers by helping you secure media coverage at your request
-Support your staff who may be affected by life-limiting illness with our range of services at no cost

Did you also know that you can support your local hospice by donating through your salary?

Payroll Giving, also known as Give As You Earn, is a simple way to make regular, tax-free donations. It’s a quick and easy way to donate to us, straight from your pay before tax is deducted. Simply ask your Payroll Department whether your company offers the scheme. If they do, you need to decide how much you would like to give each time you are paid.Every time you’re paid, your Payroll Department deducts the agreed amount and sends it to us. There’s nothing more for you to do.

If you would like to set up Payroll Giving at your workplace, we would love to talk to you. We can arrange an engaging promotion tailored to your specific needs. Contact us at fundraising@ardgowanhospice.org

Fundraising as a School, Group, College etc

Inspire the next generation to give back by organising fun and meaningful activities at school. Whether it’s a charity run, a non-uniform day, or a student talent show, fundraising at school not only supports our vital services but also teaches the importance of community spirit and care.

Whether you are looking to set up a college fundraiser, a school wanting to support Ardgowan Hospice through the YPI (Youth and Philanthropy Initiative) or a local community group such as the Guides - we want to thank and support you on your fundraising journey. We can organise for our team (including our mascot Ace!) to come by and tell you more about the services your money helps us deliver, or give you tips on the best ways to promote your idea. Please get in touch today for ideas, tips and support.

Fundraising on our behalf

Turn your special event into an opportunity to give back. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, or community gathering, you can make it memorable by supporting our hospice. Host a raffle, set up a donation station, or dedicate the proceeds of your event to help us continue our life-changing work.

We are always blown away by the great ideas and challenges our supporters tell us they are taking on in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. Our dedicated fundraising team is on hand to help make your own fundraisers a great success, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions! To make things even easier for you, you can download some materials to make your fundraising event or challenge at the bottom of this page!

Each of our fundraisers also qualifies for a free Ardgowan Hospice t-shirt*! Simply get in touch with your size (S-XXL) and we will get that to you.

FAQs

There are so many ways you can get involved. Check out all of our fundraising events on our event calendar. There are physical challenges like runs, hikes and swims or if you are feeling social, why not organise a coffee morning, a night in with friends, or a golf day? Whatever you choose to do, we're here to support you with your fundraising. From resources and ideas to online fundraising tips.

We'd love to be able to promote every single person who fundraises for us on our social media channels. We're lucky to have so many supporters like you fundraising for us. We share Fundraising Friday posts on our social media and we are also happy to arrange coverage with local media to promote your event. Just get in touch.

Setting up an online fundraising page is a great place to start. All you need to do is visit JustGiving, choose Ardgowan Hospice and select your challenge from the list. Supporters who use these sites such as JustGiving often raise more money than people fundraising offline. When you select Ardgowan Hospice as your chosen charity, all income is transferred directly to us. So all you have to do is share your page on Facebook and Twitter to get the word out to all your friends and family.

We have some downloadable promotional materials which can be found on our fundraising page. Also, if there is something you need that is not there, please get in touch with fundraising@ardgowanhospice.org.

Want to collect sponsorship the old fashioned way? Be super organised and download our sponsorship form so you can collect donations and Gift Aid declarations.

You can donate your fundraising money to reception at Ardgowan Hospice, 12 Nelson Street, Greenock, PA15 1TS or send a cheque in the mail. You can also pay your Fundraising through our website at https://ardgowanhospice.enthuse.com/donate#!/ If you are raising money through Justgiving, don't worry, the money will be directly transferred to Ardgowan Hospice. Thank you for your fundraising efforts - we know that raising money can be a challenge, but your hard work means we can continue to support people living with a life limiting illness.

If you have another question which hasn't been answered here or is specific to an event you are taking on, please contact Fundraising team at fundraising@ardgowanhospice.org
