Fundraising Friday: Young Fundraisers Edition
At Ardgowan Hospice, we are continuously inspired and uplifted by the incredible fundraising support we receive from our local community. Their efforts, creativity, and generosity help us provide vital care and services to those in need.
On this Fundraising Friday, we want to thank all of our young fundraisers who have supported us recently by showcasing the power of community spirit, highlighting some of the fundraising efforts in Inverclyde:

Local children and parents from Gwen’s Childminding took on the rain and wind during a stormy weekend in March at the Battery Park. Alongside hosting a raffle, the little ones and their families took part in the 1½ mile walk, raising an incredible £4,800.
In May, the 17th Greenock Guides and Rangers took part in a sponsored walk from the Battery Park to Lunderston Bay to raise money for Ardgowan Hospice’s Children’s Bereavement Service. The girls raised over £500 towards our vital funds.

The senior members of the 3rd Gourock Boys’ Brigade raised funds for Ardgowan Hospice during their annual quiz night. More than 100 guests attended the evening for ten quiz rounds and a raffle, helping to raise £682.

St Columbas High School S3 pupils, Lily Presh, Layna Morgan, Leah Grimley & Amalia Silva for securing a £3000 grant for Ardgowan Hospice through the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Scotland project. The enthusiastic teens visited Ardgowan Hospice and met staff members across all services to learn more about what the hospice does for our local community. After their visits, using the research gathered, they developed an engaging and informative presentation explaining why Ardgowan Hospice should receive the award. Lily, Layna, Leah and Amalia were delighted to be awarded the win and wasted no time in inviting Steven to St Columba’s HS to present him with the cheque.

In May, Ace visited St Michael’s Primary in Port Glasgow for their Go Purple Day celebration. Pupils and teaching staff raised £550 by hosting a purple come as you please and raffle, before Ace helped to hand out awards to the pupils.

Friends Tahlia Watt and Levi Houton, both aged nine, raised £318.85 for Ardgowan Hospice by making colourful bracelets with loom bands and selling them to passers-by. A true example of generosity and kindness from these fundraisers!

Sixth year pupils at Clydeview Academy put on a charity talent show with an all star cast for in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. The leadership team pulled off a show-stopper recruiting dancers, singers, bands, musicians and even teachers in the school to perform with pupils all donating to watch they raised a fantastic £332.10.
