Fundraising Friday

At Ardgowan Hospice, we are continuously inspired and uplifted by the incredible fundraising support we receive from our local community. Their efforts, creativity, and generosity help us provide vital care and services to those in need.

On this Fundraising Friday, we want to thank everyone who has supported us recently by showcasing the power of community spirit, highlighting some of the fundraising efforts in Inverclyde:

In June, Skelmorlie Bowling Club hosted a Raffle and Bingo Night, raising an incredible £1,060 in support of Ardgowan Hospice. Skelmorlie Bowling Club also held a Country Western Themed day in loving memory of Kerry Sweeney, a truly cherished member of our community who is missed by so many. Their fantastic fundraising efforts raised £650 for the hospice.

Port Glasgow Bowling Club hosted a fundraiser in July in honour of Sammy Houston, whose wife is a member at the club. Through bowls, raffles and home baking they raised a fantastic £850 with the proceeds going to Ardgowan Hospice.

On a very wet Saturday in August, the Cameron Cup took place in memory of Kieran Cameron and Scott McBride. Blackthorn Sunday took on Cleats Bar for the 11-a-side game, with Blackthorn winning in the final few moments. Through donations and raffles on the day, the Cameron Cup raised an incredible £2500.

Hillend Children’s Centre handed over a cheque of £366.73 to the hospice, which they raised through their Go Yellow Day activities. The youngsters and staff dress head-to-toe in bright outfits. A huge thank you to the pupils, their parents and the staff for their continued support over the years.

The Galatea Bar in Rothesay hosted a Sunday Sesh Charity Fundraiser, featuring entertainment, raffles, and an auction. The event was a fantastic success and the efforts raised £4000 for Ardgowan Hospice.

A massive congratulations to Nigel Ovens, who completed his first triathlon in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. Nigel is a known face locally, working in the much-loved McCaskie Butchers & Cafe – great supporters of the hospice. So far, they have raised £2050, with funds still being donated.

We would like to thank Lynda from Team Compston for generously donating a gift basket for patients on the ward during their visit from England.
