Fundraising Friday

At Ardgowan Hospice, we are continuously inspired and uplifted by the incredible fundraising support we receive from our local community. Their efforts, creativity, and generosity help us provide vital care and services to those in need.

On this Fundraising Friday, we want to thank everyone who has supported us recently by showcasing the power of community spirit, highlighting some of the fundraising efforts in Inverclyde:

A.O.H Clune Brae Port Glasgow held a charity night in memory of the much-loved club president Alex Coyle. The event raised a fantastic £1080 from ticket sales and the raffle.

Since 2011 the Lighthouse Spiritualist Church has been serving the Inverclyde community; it sadly closed in August, but the church leaders kindly donated £1600 to support the running of the hospice.

On a bitterly cold New Year’s day, 137 runners supported by 18 volunteers took on Lyle Hill to complete the one‑mile uphill challenge from the bridge on Lyle Road to the very top of Lyle Hill to raise funds in memory of Juliane Neilson. So far they have raised a fantastic £2,500.

Glen Park Harriers said, “While it was great to see everyone turn up and enjoy the race, the day was about more than times and positions. The Lyle Run is held with the goal of raising money for local charities, and this year the aim was to raise funds for Ardgowan Hospice in memory of our friend Juliane Neilson. Greenock Glenpark Harriers would like to thank everyone who ran, volunteered, donated or supported on the day.”

Bonnie Bounty Competitions made their first charity donation of the year to Ardgowan Hospice. We are so grateful for the £2,000 raised.

Santa, Rudolph (Gaynor Griffin) and Hollie the Elf raised £500 for Ardgowan Hospice with the continued generosity of ‘Friends of Falmouth Drive’ in memory of Sadie Band.

The Diodes Community Care team raised funds for Ardgowan Hospice in 2025 through their team summer day out and their December staff raffle. Their fundraising activities raised £1600.

Our neighbours, Greenock City Church, kindly donated £1000, which was raised from fundraising on Tuesday afternoon teas throughout October, November and December.

Kilmacolm Parish Church hosted a Christmas Gift Coffee morning, which saw locals visit the church for Santa’s grotto and some free coffee and mince pies, choirs, crafts to make and a sale table in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. Their coffee morning has helped them to raise £400 for hospice funds this Christmas.
