Light Up a Life 2025
It is that time of year again when we launch our well-received, annual Light Up a Life appeal.
Light up a Life is an annual remembrance event where those who wish to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones come together to think back to the laughter, the love, and the precious memories of those who are no longer with us.
Take part virtually
You can access our virtual Light Up a Life space here: https://ardgowanhospice2025.light-up-a-life.org. This is a safe, online platform to share photos and memories of your loved one, with the opportunity to give an optional donation towards our charity’s services.
You can use our online space to leave a dedication to someone who made your life special, you can leave a message and a treasured photograph to display here on our Light up a Life page. When you do, you will also have the opportunity to make a kind donation to the hospice. This is optional, and will help us care for people with life-limiting illnesses in our community.

Take part in person
If you would rather hang up a physical star in memory, we are delighted to have space in Greenock and Port Glasgow Tesco’s again for our LUAL dedication trees. Dates for this are still to be confirmed, so please keep an eye on our Facebook page for further updates, or sign up to receive our enews.

Our annual service
We invite everyone across our community to attend our Light Up a Life service at Westburn Church, Greenock. This year, the service will be held from 4pm on Sunday, the 7th of December. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community to reflect on the lives of our loved ones and to find support and compassion. Celebrate the people you love and miss by taking some time out at the busiest time of year to reflect and remember. Everyone is welcome to join in and remember someone in this special way, whether or not you have a connection with the Hospice.
The Light Up a Life service will include music, readings, and a tree-lighting ceremony, and is open to people of any background. The Tree of Remembrance, which has kindly been donated by Cardwell Garden Centre, will be turned on during this time.
