Corporate Fundraising Friday: Xcite

At Ardgowan Hospice, we are constantly inspired by the incredible support from our local community. Their dedication, creativity, and generosity enable us to provide essential care and services to those in need.

This Fundraising Friday, we’re shining a spotlight on Xcite. Their ongoing support has been invaluable to the hospice from generous donations to fundraising events. Here’s a glimpse of their fundraising efforts and how you can get involved:

Since opening just three years ago, Xcite has become a popular destination for families seeking a fun day out. With various inflatables and games, there’s always something exciting to enjoy in their play area.

But Xcite has offered more than just a place for fun – they’ve also been instrumental in supporting Ardgowan Hospice. From bake sales to charity nights, their fundraising efforts have been continuous, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering support.

In February, Xcite’s contributions to Ardgowan Hospice were found to have reached £1,193.95 – an incredible amount in such a small space of time.

Since then, Xcite has had several charity nights in aid of Ardgowan Hospice and hosted bake sales and toy sales as part of their fundraising efforts.

Xcite also combined with West College Scotland to give their students the chance to create a product to sell at one of their charity days in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

It is all of these charity fundraising events that have caused Xcite to play a crucial role in raising funds for Ardgowan Hospice.

Joanna Hunter, our Fundraising Manager, shared her appreciation for Xcite’s commitment to the hospice.

“Watching Xcite grow has been wonderful,” Joanna said. “The support they’ve provided has played a significant role in helping us continue to deliver compassionate care across Inverclyde.

“It’s also fantastic to have local businesses involved. As we highlighted in our last Corporate Fundraising Friday blog, many local businesses are key to raising the vital funds we rely on.

“We’re always eager for more businesses to join us in supporting the hospice. If you’re a small business interested in helping, please reach out – we’d love to explore ways you can contribute.

“For more information, please email fundraising@ardgowanhospice.org or call us on 01475 726830. We’re excited to hear from you and welcome as many businesses as possible to get involved!”

Thank You!

A heartfelt thank you to Xcite and all the businesses that have supported the hospice over the years. Your continued generosity helps us provide compassionate care to the people of Inverclyde. We couldn’t do it without you.

How You Can Help

Donations

Donations play a crucial role in helping us provide compassionate care to the Inverclyde community. Every contribution helps us continue supporting patients and families through some of their most difficult moments.

Thanks to generous supporters, we are able to offer vital services like My Grief Matters and MYLife which give people a safe and supportive environment to navigate their grief and connect with others who have faced similar challenges.

These programs offer a space for healing, reflection, and shared experiences, making a meaningful difference during tough times. Your support helps keep these services available to those who need them most.

Contact your MP/MSP

With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we appreciate that many of our supporters may not be able to donate money to the hospice.

It is estimated that hospices across the country have had a £43 million real-terms cut in Government funding over the past two years. Without immediate action from Members of Parliament, hospices like Ardgowan will be forced to cut back on some of the most important services that we offer.

That is why we are also asking our supporters to get in touch with your MP to urge immediate action to ensure hospices like Ardgowan can continue to operate and provide compassionate care to those who need it.

To contact your MP, please click here and send the drafted email directly to your MP or MSP to ensure your voice is heard.

Leave a Legacy

Ardgowan Hospice depends upon the continued generosity of friends and family who have been supported by the hospice,

Gifts in Wills are one of our most important sources of future planning; they help us predict our future and how we can continue to develop and deliver services to support patients and families in Inverclyde.

This legacy will help to provide a secure future for Ardgowan Hospice and will go a long way in supporting those in the community we serve.

Operating the hospice costs £11,000 a day, and contributions like this are crucial in enabling us to continue our work.
